Out & About
Another awesome class at the 2-Days The
Dynamics of Persuasive Presentations show
off their wisdom, enthusiasm and passion at the end
of the programme!
When knowledge and proper preparation
have
been attended to, then we can give a dynamic,
persuasive
presentation.
Remember that life is a series of
presentations, and they include whenever
you are talking to one-on-one or one-to-many.
Once you are prepared, then control of both
nerves and voice management becomes a
necessity and an issue. You must control your nerves.
Before you even get up to speak, relax in the
following way:
-
Allow thoughts of you succeeding in the
presentation
to pervade your mind
- Think of what it would look like, feel like
and
sound like when you have given a great presentation
- Hold that vision in your mind and breathe
ever
so gently and naturally
- Affirm to yourself quietly that, "I can do
it!"
- Do this over and over again, until you
can see
this in your mind's eye.
- Relax your entire body while sitting in
your chair.
- Sit with all your weight in the chair. Just
let go, it's effortless. Let go of every muscle in your
body.
- Check the neck and shoulder areas.
Gently shrug
your shoulders and let them go limp.
- Slowly relax the muscles from neck
downwards to every
part of your body as you sit in your chair.
- Breathe gently and slowly, and feel all
the tension
in your body flowing away.
- Become aware of your tranquil, easy
breathing.
- Do this for about 5 minutes. You may
want to
close your eyes while doing so.
Relax...now get up...walk to the rostrum or the
front of the room...and communicate with your
audience!

| Quote of the Day |

"It's going to be Doggone Year!" Gong Xi Fatt
Choy to all our readers! A Healthy, Wealthy &
Prosperous New Year to All!
****************************************
From Stuart Wilde, one of my favourite
philosophers, from his book, "The Secrets of
Life"
"On Being in Flow:I believe that life was
never really meant to be a struggle - yet somehow
we are taught that life is one of effort, hard work,
anguish and difficulty, and battling on regardless.
And yet, when we look at
nature, and we look at what is around us, we
can
see a simplicity and a flow. Does the tiger get up in
the morning and say, "I'm gonna try hard today; I'm
gonna jog 'round the block, and stick alfalfa sprouts
up my nose and lob my vitamins and I'm gonna
struggle like crazy and hopefully by lunchtime I'm
going to get something to eat?"
No, it doesn't. It just gets up, has a little sniff
under its tiger armpits and wanders out into the
forest and there at lunchtime on the path is lunch.
And it's the same for you. If you get into flow
and you pull away from the emotion of
struggling, sure, you may have to drive across town
to pick up a cheque and take it to your bank, but it
doesn't have to be anguish - it doesn't have to be
laced with emotion. Effort is part of the physical
condition.
Struggle is effort laced with emotion. And you
don't need that!
And that's worth thinking about!
