Facilitators in the world of The
Leadership Challenge(R) Programme. Photo taken in

Last month (June), I attended The Leadership
Challenge(R) Workshop Facilitator Training which was
conducted in Sonoma, California.
LJ Rose was one of the 4 Master Facilitators
who took us through the intensive programme
and let me tell you...I was fully stretched, mentally
stimulated, and emotionally charged!
LJ, as she likes to be called comes with
impeccable qualifications, and her cv is
awesome! Below is a shortened version of what she's
done so far!
For 2 years LJ Rose circled the globe on a solo
mission of exploration through 29 countries. Her
passion for indigenous areas of the world deepens
annually with solo expeditions off the beaten path.
This year marks LJ's 20th year in the world of
work. She has been one of the nation's
youngest business school deans, the first female
Sales & Marketing Area Manager for Krofta
Engineering, and a business coach since 1998.
Passionate about ideas, talent, and results,
LJ is now a leadership consultant. Working with
organizations ranging in size from 20 employees to
150,000, she has helped clients become exemplary
leaders in business units and enterprise-wide.
LJ has worked with emerging leaders, executive
teams and thousands of employees in areas
such as:
Finance
IT
Sales
Marketing
R & D
Engineering

Customer Support
In November of this year, LJ is coming to
Singapore on my invitation! She, being a Master

help me to present a 3-day weekend The Leadership

Greetings!
Hello Everybody! Time passes so quickly when we
have our noses
down to the job at hand, are passionate about
what
we're doing, and are committed to our life's work! I
have been on a such a huge workload for the past 3
months that I had to take a sabbatical from my
newsletter. Now
Iím back with a vengeance.
My time has been fully
loaded with presenting workshops, seminars and
presenting keynote speeches...so I would say ñ it's
been time well spent!
For example, this month I conducted training
programmes for Heads of Department and Senior
Managers from a large financial institution
on ëHow to be an Effective Trainerí as they need to
train new staff members. After two days
participating in the workshop, participants soared
in their newly learnt presentation style and content
construction, and didn't fail to amaze their colleagues
with their new skills!
This month, 2 exciting personalities join my
business - Mrs Betty Kan-Sekine as Director of
Client Services, and Ms Afizah Rahim as Client
Services Manager. Welcome aboard ladies! I'm really
looking forward to your great contributions. We trust
you'll have a great career with us, and also add great
value to all our valued clients!
We've also found a new corporate office that
suits our needs down to a T! It's in the centre
of the business district, and it's really convenient!
I'm looking forward to the adventures ahead
in the next few months where there are more
things to be shared and learned. I hope you'll join me
on my adventures too! Carpe Diem!
Ricky

Successful Leaders Think Positive

Pictured above is Betty Kan-Sekine, who joins us
this month as our Director of Client Services!
****************************************
Betty, our new Director of Client Services, will be
sharing on how YOU can be a great leader. This
is a short read for leaders who wish to be even
better leaders!
Successful leaders think positive because we
gravitate toward our dominant thoughts...what
we
think about most.
We need to create a healthy
imagination in our mind, not only to foster good
memory, but also to relax our body and mind. All
these are necessary for solving problems at work.
This mental rehearsal together with physical practice
improves task performances.
Successful leaders
discipline their thoughts so that they will attract
success, what they believe in most strongly, expect
on the deepest level, and imagine most vividly.
Similarly, if we dwell on our fears, we will attract
what we do not want. Therefore, we must
focus on
what we want.
Speak positive words to get positive
results. Open our mouth only when we have
something positive and constructive to say. We will
appreciate the change and so will our followers.
The more you do this, the better you will
become.
Seek, and you will find. Ask, and you shall get!
Good luck on your way towards better self-
leadership!

Remember To Breathe!

Another GREAT personality joins us in July! She's
Afizah Rahim, and she's our Client Services Manager!
****************************************
Afizah writes, "I'm a great believer of life-long
learning with a passion for drama, I enjoy laughter
and collaboration! Everyday, there will always be
something to learn and I find life extremely enriching.
Being a new
mother of a baby boy, I have learned a lot more
about parenting and discovered the ëheroineí in
my mother.
Today not only do I dream of my dreams but I
dream
of ëourí dream ñ my family. In life, sharing is one
virtue Man should inculcate and I am here to share
my knowledge, my experience and my
dream!
"The aim of life is self-development. To realize
one's nature perfectly - that is what each of us is
here for." Oscar Wilde
Here are some tips to make your
presentation more powerful and end up with an
excellent presentation - simply by breathing!
In today's fast-paced life, people tend to forget
to breathe especially when you are giving a
presentation.
1. Breathe deeper for volume, control and
emphasis.
2. It is best to inhale through your nose and
exhale
through your mouth.
3. As you inhale you should feel your
abdomen rising;
it is as if your stomach is filling with air.
4. As you exhale, the abdomen comes back
in, like a
balloon releasing all of its air.
5. Pause in between slides or points to breathe
and count to three as you exhale - this will give
your audience sufficient time to think through your
presentation.
Do try out these exercises! Practice makes
perfect, and I guarantee...that if you practice
the above moves judiciously, you will have far
greater health! And that's worth thinking about!

Quote of the Day

From Stuart Wilde, one of my favourite
philosophers, from his book, "The Secrets of
Life" , 1990
On Opportunity: If you move toward your
goals, expressing all your Power, Opportunity will find
you as a result of your Actions.
For by riding your energy, knowing and believing your
Higher Self is with you, you will be in the right place
at the right time.
But make the first move, taking constant care to
purify and review your life; move from negative
habits into the fortress of light. Discipline is the horse
you ride.
