Communicating to Connect during Conflict

How do you communicate in a way that meets both parties needs, especially during difficult situations or when in conflict? How do you speak in a more loving, compassionate and empathetic way of understanding and functioning with others?
In this concentrated afternoon of 4 packed hours, we will explore the evidence based and tested ways of Compassionate Communication (a language of life as used by Marshall B. Rosenberg, Ph.D.) to explore how best we use a proven model to communicate our authentic feelings and needs.

Outline of program:

      • What shows leadership in a Voice?
      • A way to focus attention
      • A proven process in discourse that works 
      • What type of communication blocks understanding?
      • Observing without evaluating
      • Feelings that are identified and expressed
      • Needs are at the root of ALL feelings
      • When needs are unmet, and the consequences suffered
      • When needs are met, and the results obtained
      • The power of empathy, the secrets of how to use it
      • How to build rapport with anyone
      • Expressing ourselves without fear
      • The costs of forcing others versus using requesting 
Methodology:
Mini lectures, practice situations, feedback, mini quizzes, & lots of takeaways.
